Board Member Mike Lappe recently visited the Byron Police Department to present a grant to an officer who was injured in the line of duty.
Sgt. Jim Wilcox was seriously wounded during an arrest situation which has forced him onto a Duty Disability status with the Byron Police Department. Jim and his family have received two financial grants to help them make the transition over to workmen's comepnsation.

In March 2008, The Police Survivors honored two of our newest Executive Members.  Pictured are Board Member Mike Lappe, Burbank Police Officer James Brodnick with his wife Mary, Board Member Ken Malkowski, and Burbank Police Officer Jessie Cullota with his family.

These two Burbank Police Officers were shot and seriously wounded during an arrest situation. As part of our services we sent Police Survivors Board Members Mike Lappe and Ken Malkowski, both police officers who were also seriously shot and wounded during an arrest situation, for a one on one visitation.  Financial grants were presented to each of the Burbank Police Officers to assist in their recovery, we are happy to report that both Burbank Police Officers have since returned to work.
